Renaissance Festival

Last weekend we went to the Renaissance Festival with Angie, Scot, Honey (Sharon), and the girls.  We had so much fun playing and eating and running around and eating and exploring and eating...get the picture?  The food was great and if we had stayed any longer we probably would have needed to be rolled out of the place.  Anyhoo, Angie told us the girls were going to be dressing up and we found out it was pirate weekend at the fair so we dressed Colin up too.  They all 4 looked so stinking cute!  Here are some pictures from our afternoon adventure.

Making our way from the parking lot to the festival!

Jillian & Colin with their corn on the cob.  I like how Colin is holding his like a baby - he devoured that entire thing!

Nora, Jillian, Colin, and Lauren eating in the wagons - this was our first stop once we got inside.

Aunt Angie being crazy.

Lauren (Colin calls her Lolly) showing off her mermaid face painting.  She liked the art work but couldn't understand why the lady made the mermaid's hair come out the top of the crown.  Guess not all facepainters are properly schooled in mermaid hair etiquette, huh?

Nora (Colin calls her Dora) showing off her butterfly.  :)

The men (aka Scot & Luke) doing manly things.  It's even more manly shoot a bow & arrow with a dragon backpack, just ask Luke.

My little pirate on the carousel.

Pocahontas, the pirate, & a queen (aka: Lauren, Colin, & Nora)

Lauren, Uncle Scot, Jillian, & Aunt Angie riding an elephant!  How cool is that?!?!

Nora, Luke, Colin, and me riding an elephant!

Closer picture of us on the elephant but sweet Nora is hidden behind the tree. Colin is waving to Honey.

Fall Festival

Last Saturday was the fall festival at our church - this was Colin's second time to attend but I don't think he remembers last year. Heck, I don't remember him going last year but I know he was there, somewhere. :) It was a long day with a lot of work and running around but we both loved it. Poor Luke missed the festival this year because he was shooting (as in photography, not guns) a wedding in San Antonio last weekend. We missed him A LOT but we had plenty to occupy our time on Saturday. I cannot believe October is halfway over - more than halfway....getting very excited for Halloween and for our little dragon to go trick or treating!

Petting Zoo @ FUMC Pasadena Fall Festival - October 2010

Colin naturally gravitates towards the food bowl - thankfully he did not try to feed any of these animals.

He spent some time in the moonwalk - most of it was trying to stand up but he loved it anyway.

Colin & his giant balloon that was tied to the back of his overalls.

Colin & Aunt Kim

After the festival we went to a bday party for one of Colin's classmates.  It was a pirate themed party - Colin had so much fun with the balloon sword that he popped it.  Oops!

He also practiced his bike riding at the party w/the help of Aunt Kim.

This was his favorite toy @ the party. We could hardly get him out of it.  Doesn't he look even more like his Daddy in this picture?  So handsome!

Backtrack - Pasadena Rodeo Parade & Park

A few weeks ago Colin went to his very first parade.  I don't remember what Luke was doing - I think playing golf with his dad, aka Daddy Jay, but it was just going to be Colin and I so we called up Grammie and invited her along.  We chose the best seats of course - right in front of Starbucks - and settled in to watch the show.  Colin loved it and was really attentive to everything going on.  After the parade we met Pappy at McDonald's for lunch and then went to feed the ducks at the park.  Let's just say that Colin was really happy for naptime that Saturday.  It was a lot of fun!

Colin & Grammie waiting for the parade to start (and eating a kolache).

I love how cool this kid thinks he is.  :)

His 2 favorite toys from the day: Nemo the fish that Grammie bought from a street vendor and an American flag someone in the parade handed to him.  He was waving that flag like crazy the rest of the parade.

Did I mention they also gave candy to the kids at the parade?

Mr. Cool feeding the ducks at Crenshaw Park.  The Buzz Lightyear sunglasses did not come off the entire afternoon.

I love fall!

I love everything about the fall - I love the leaves falling off the trees, college football (I do have my limits though!), cooler temperatures, fall festivals, and the fact that it leads us to my favorite holidays - Thanksgiving and Christmas!  Last Friday at school was 'wear your favorite sports team' day.  I am sure most of you can guess what Colin wore...my little miniature red raider.

Does he look happy to be taking another picture or what???

his favorite activity of the evening was pushing that stroller around - think he is trying to tell us something?

This Crazy Life

Ok, it has been awhile.  It has been a long while since I contributed anything to this blog.  I actually think about sitting down and uploading photos/stories pretty often but my laptop is sort of sick right now.  The only computer I can use is the mac and I puffy heart love the mac for a lot of things but  uploading/viewing pictures is so terrible!!!  So I have been lazy, but I am going to try to be better about it.  I want to document these things now or else I will forget them - I seriously have the worst memory.  So I am just going to skip August - too much to talk about in September.

First, I got to meet little Jack!  Don't be too jealous - I didn't get to hold him, yet!  I went to pick up some charms from B (seriously, she makes the cutest wine charms! check out spunk and sass on etsy!) and got to visit with her and her little man for awhile.  It made my heart so happy I thought it  might explode to see his momma holding him at home, in her living room! To some this may not seem like that big of a deal, but for this sweet family, it is a humongous, ginormous deal and I am so deliriously happy for them!  I was also secretly so excited for myself that I got to see this handsome little boy in person.  I have been stalking her blog for months (7 to be exact) to see updated pictures/progress updates/etc,so to see him 'in the flesh' was great!  I can't wait until he and Colin are running around the church together - the cuteness will be too much to handle.

Second, we had a bachelorette party for my sister!  It was really fun - we got a suite at the Magnolia Hotel (if you haven't been there, you should go - suite or not, it's really nice and you get free drinks, free cookies and milk, and free breakfast!).  We had a great time celebrating her upcoming wedding - not sure how many pictures I actually want published from that night!

After the bachelorette party, my sister got married!  I don't have any photos - not a single one - from the wedding day.  I have been stalking her photographers website like a mad woman!  It was an absolutely perfect weekend.  The rehearsal dinner was in their backyard and I did manage to get a couple pics that night.  Not that they are any good but at least someone documented something, right?

The wedding day was great - the ceremony was beautiful, my sister was the most gorgeous bride (her fiancee/husband wasn't too bad either!), and the reception was the best party I have been to in a long time.  Add to that seeing all of your family dressed in tuxes/dresses/looking amazing and it was so much fun.  Colin was the ringbearer and hopefully I will never forget his cuteness on that day.  I can't wait to post a pic of him in his tuxedo and converse - swoonworthy, for sure.  Most importantly, my sister married the man of her dreams and they are definitely a perfect match for eachother.  I can't wait to see what the future holds for them and am the proudest big sister on the face of the planet.  At least on my planet I am.  I was able to steal a couple of pictures from Kristen's facebook page....

The happy couple dancing to their wedding song.

My crazy man waiting for them to cut the cake.

I need to look on my laptop at home to find some pictures of Colin from the last couple of months - he is getting so big, so fast!  Be back soon!
