lately.

i never thought we'd be those people.  you know, the ones who always have plans every minute of the day and are just generally 'busy'.  phew.  the last few weeks have been a doozy.  in a good way.  we have been busy with lots of fun stuff.  this weekend was no exception.  on friday night we took colin and jillian (our youngest niece who just happens to be 9 months older than colin) to toy story on  ice.  it was so much fun!  of course, after 2 hours of toy story and ice skating we were all ready to go and left the show early - i am sure it had a great ending...but 2 hours was our limit.  look at this adorable cousin 'date'.

milkshakes at smashburger before the show.

of course uncle luke/daddy had to get into the milkshake pose.

they are so cute.

after the show, with their souvenirs.  colin was born to have a sword - he knew exactly what to do with it, ha.
on saturday we got some more cousin time in when we went to jillian's birthday party - she turned 3!  we were in the room when she was born and i cannot believe it has been 3 years already. she is such a sweet girl and can definitely hold her own with her 2 older sisters.  she takes such good care of her "bubba" and colin loves her too. jillian had a princess party and colin did not know what to do - he was super shy and quiet and clingy until the very end and then he was all about putting on the crowns/jewels.
notice how  he is slouched down in his chair?  this is what he looked like the majority of the party.

eating his tiara sandwich and drinking his pink lemonade. :)

the birthday girl's princess cake!

the birthday princess!

aunt leah, jillian, and lauren - colin's girls.  too bad we didn't get sweet nora in the picture too.
after the birthday party we went down to galveston to see some friends.  we had a great time and hopefully we weren't too big party poopers as we were pretty tired by the time we got there.  we got some quality friend time and colin got some to spend some quality time with sweet baby kirsten - who will be one in a couple of months.  man, where is the time going???
watching daddy.

luke figuring the paddle board out.

they got some fishing done.

lots of outside time.
kandace, kirsten, colin, and me - this was our best attempt at a picture.  i love how kirsten is grabbing his arm.

finally on sunday after we got home and rested just a little we headed to the church easter egg hunt.  this is always big fun.  we told colin there was candy inside the eggs and that was all the coaching he needed this year.  he got a bunch of eggs and got to play with some of his best friends from school!
in his adorable easter shirt - my friend made it and i love it!

time to get serious.

looking at the candy in his basket.

break time for a sno cone.

colin, zekey, and andrew - they are best friends and have been in 'class' together since they were infants.  so cute!

this was 2 minutes into the car drive home.  this is what i felt like doing too.  notice the plastic hammer and buzz lightyear next to his seat.  you never know when you will need one of these important tools, ha.
whew, that was one long and amazing weekend. seriously we had a blast.  i was so worn out i really wanted to call in on monday so i could sleep and get some rest.  i didn't but i really really wanted to. trying to rest up this week to get ready for easter weekend!

beach vacay 2011

we took our first week long vacation in over 2 years at the beginning of april.  it was glorious.  amazing.  wonderful.  all of that and then more.  my parents rented a house at pointe west in galveston and we got to spend 7 days relaxing and soaking up the sun. we went to the pool, to the lazy river pool, to the beach, had a crawfish boil, took long walks on the beach, went into town a couple times, celebrated my mom's birthday, and took it easy.  like i said - amazing.  here comes the photo overload.
