T-Ball Time

Back in February we decided it would be fun to sign Colin up for t-ball.  We really had no idea of what to expect but were so excited.  It ended up being a pretty big commitment - 2 practices every week and a game - but it was such a great experience for all of us.  Most importantly, he loved it and I really think it helped to boost his confidence.  Plus, the kid is good!  Not baseball progeny/next big thing good but he did really well and we were so proud of him.  At least once during every game he would ask if it was almost over, but I think it was mostly because he was a big fan of the post game snacks that were passed out!

Practice started in March and they kicked off the beginning of the season with a parade on Opening Day.  Loved it!!!
trying on his uniform for the first time...then he wanted to pose.

We were nervous signing him up because we didn't know what to expect or how he would react.  In social situations Colin is either 100% totally comfortable or 100% totally shy and in 'freak-out mode'.  He was a little shy/nervous at first and then he got comfortable and started to really enjoy everything - practices, games, his teammates.  He surpassed our expectations and we could not have been any more proud of this sweet boy who is growing up way too fast.  Now we can't wait until next year!

memorial day weekend 2013

We decided at the last minute to take an overnight trip down to Galveston during Memorial Day weekend.  We thought it was either going to be really fun and memorable or really miserable with crowds of people everywhere.  It was crowded but it was probably the most fun as a family we have ever had.  It was just the four of us and we had the absolute best time.  We didn't tell Colin where we were going until we were in the car driving out of the neighborhood.  It was perfect!  It was so relaxing and fun and chaotic and we definitely made some memories.  We strangely came away renewed - I think a little time away with my guys is exactly what we all needed.

Colin finding out we were going to the beach!  Davis looks super impressed.

Going into the Rainforest at Moody Gardens.

Some friendly animals we spotted on our walk thru the rainforest.

cheese.  the hotel gave colin this backpack when we checked in and he did not take it off the entire time.  guess we know how to make a little boy happy now.  :)

in the aquarium at moody gardens, he was fascinated.

 oh big brother.

showing off his superhero moves in the shark cage.

after lunch and playtime at palm beach we headed to the hotel pool.

 colin was having a blast...

little brother was worn out.  he slept for almost 2 hours like this.

back at the hotel getting cleaned up for dinner.

oh my goodness, this boy is too much.

trying to get a picture of his super cute freckles.

colin must be taking after me...he wanted a picture of momma and daddy.  he told luke to kiss me on the cheek...funny boy.

the next morning after breakfast we headed straight for the real beach.  colin finally got to fly his kite and was in heaven.

as we suspected, little brother was a fan of the surf and sand too.

once the fun wore off and the cranky set in we went back to the hotel to clean up, check out and see one last exhibit...the dinosaurs!!!

is it just me or does my 4 year old look so grown up in these pictures?

and one last picture before we left.  didn't you know tree frogs like to chew blankets???
